MOSCOW, 30 October (BelTA) - It has become apparent that the global security system no longer works, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said in Moscow when asked by BelTA.
“It is obvious that today the global security system is broken; the system of checks and balances does not work. Today, some states can start any military actions without a sanction from the UN Security Council,” Vladimir Andreichenko noted.
The speaker described the general situation in the world as very difficult. “Some states have even started using their economies as a weapon. We need to counteract these threats. Our unions and associations play a very important role here,” he said. One such associations, according to Vladimir Andreichenko, is the CSTO which was set up on the initiative of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.
The Belarusian parliamentary delegation led by Vladimir Andreichenko is attending the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly events in Moscow.
