MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – The Belarus-Russia Union State is rightfully considered the solid foundation and the linchpin of the integration processes in the post-Soviet space, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told a briefing on 31 March, BelTA has learned.
Dmitry Mironchik said that Belarus and Russia will celebrate the Day of Unity of the Peoples on 2 April. “The systematic interaction between Belarus and Russia in the foreign and defense policy has become a guarantee of stability in the regional and even broader context. The Union State is rightfully considered the solid foundation and the linchpin of the integration processes in the post-Soviet space,” he emphasized.
Dmitry Mironchik noted that the Union State project aimed at achieving social and economic progress and improving the wellbeing of people in Belarus and Russia is a foreign policy priority for Belarus and one of the main areas of bilateral cooperation. “Together we have developed an extensive legal framework which enables us to closely and effectively cooperate in almost all fields. We have created conditions for the provision of equal social and economic rights to the Belarusian and Russian citizens,” the official added.
Dmitry Mironchik also noted that Minsk and Moscow will host events to celebrate the Day of Unity on 4 April. The program includes solemn meetings and exchanges of delegations at the level of the parliaments of Belarus and Russia.
