MOSCOW, 27 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia should develop fundamental approaches to the development and operation of the single gas market by the end of May, Belarus Vice Premier Vladimir Semashko told the media on 27 April, BelTA has learned.
According to Vladimir Semashko, the deputy energy ministers of the two countries are expected to hold talks on this issue by 15 May. The vice premiers are expected to meet by the end of May.
“If we coordinate the principles [for the operation of the single gas market] with Russia, we will be able to submit this document to our other partners in the Eurasian Economic Union: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. They will be able to decide whether they are ready to work on such principles. We have also agreed with Russia that if our partners do not want this market, we will set it up between our two states,” said the vice premier.
