MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia need to synchronize state approaches to the youth policy, Grigory Petushkov, Chairperson of the National Youth Council of Russia, who is taking part in the Youth for the Union State forum, said at a press briefing in Mogilev BelTA has learned.
According to Grigory Petushkov, the development of a general concept of the youth policy in the Belarus-Russia Union State will be an important step towards the integration of the two countries. The parties have already started this work and this theme will dominate the forum among others. “Belarus and Russia have their own regulations and practices to work with the youth. They are really effective and interesting. Together with BRSM Youth Union we have started to generalize this positive experience in order to draw up a document that will embrace all best practices and effective mechanisms,” he said.
Undoubtedly, the general concept will include main sections on the development of all traditional areas, namely student teams and the volunteer movement, education, patriotic education, leisure activities, sport. “We also would like to add elements of general international cooperation. We are interested in speaking with one voice in the international arena, including in the fight against numerous attempts to rewrite history,” Grigory Petushkov noted.
Plans are in place to prepare the first draft of the general document for extensive discussion by the beginning of next year.
