GRODNO, 1 July (BelTA) – Interregional cooperation between Belarus and Russia is very effective in all areas, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko said on 1 July, BelTA has learned.
“The regions make a very significant contribution to trade and economic cooperation between our states and, of course, to the implementation of the Union State integration roadmaps signed by our presidents. I believe that interregional cooperation is very effective across various aspects of these programs,” Valentina Matviyenko said.
Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova and Chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko are taking part in a meeting with the regional authorities of Belarus and the Russian Federation on 1 July.
After that they will participate in the plenary session “The role of interregional cooperation in deepening the Union State integration processes”. Attending the event will be heads of ministries and government agencies, enterprises and organizations, representatives of Belarusian and Russian business.
