Belarus ready to supply electric buses, implement turn-key projects in Russia’s Vologda Oblast

MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to ship electric buses to Russia’s Vologda Oblast and implement turn-key construction projects there, Belarus’ Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said at the meeting with Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov on 6 June, BelTA has learned.

“We know that Vologda Oblast needs to update its public transport fleet. We are ready to help. We can offer various financial schemes (leasing, etc.) that could ease the burden on the Vologda Oblast budget and provide vehicles once the corresponding contracts are signed,” Andrei Kobyakov noted. Belarus is ready to offer modern buses of various configurations, trolleybuses and electric buses.

According to the prime minister, Belarusian specialists took part in the construction of facilities, including the social sector, in Kaluga Oblast, Pskov Oblast, Kaliningrad Oblast and the Republic of Komi. Belarus is ready to establish such cooperation with Vologda Oblast. “We have tested the turn-key construction format and view it as promising,” he added.

Belarus is also interested in developing cooperation in agriculture and manufacturing.

According to Andrei Kobyakov, the implementation of projects in various sectors will help balance mutual trade.

In turn, Oleg Kuvshinnikov noted that the agenda of his current visit to Belarus includes plans to boost production cooperation and integration, increase foreign trade. The delegation of the Russian region visited the international exhibition Belagro 2018 which is underway in Belarus. Oleg Kuvshinnikov stressed that the expo is a unique event for the CIS.
