DOHA, 29 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Qatar are exploring new forms of financial interaction, Belarus’ Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates with concurrent accreditation to the State of Qatar Roman Golovchenko told reporters, BelTA has learned.

According to the Ambassador, the Development Bank of Belarus is about to sign an agreement with the Qatar Development Bank which provides loans on very favorable terms to projects aimed at development. “This means that we will be able to attract, on very favorable terms, loans for those projects which are financed by the Development Bank of Belarus. This may include the construction of infrastructure, schools, hospitals, roads, bridges and so on. We are very happy that our Bank has established direct contacts with Qatari colleagues. I hope that they will be very fruitful,” ambassador Roman Golovchenko said.

Belarus’ possible participation in Qatar’s humanitarian assistance programs also seems to be a promising area. “We plan to discuss with our Qatari partners Belarus’ involvement in these programs. This may envisage the supply of our products and goods financed by Qatar to other countries. This is an important aspect we are currently working on,” the diplomat noted.
