GRODNO, 19 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian education system should train a new generation of specialists, who will have well-developed entrepreneurship skills. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement as he talked to students of Grodno universities on 19 October, BelTA has learned.
The head of state said: “The education system should encourage initiative and should train a new generation of specialists with well-developed entrepreneurship skills. It is what the modern world needs. We often suffer due to our inability to advantageously present interests and capabilities of our country abroad.”
The president stated that Grodno universities represent an intellectual center of not only one region of the country but the entire country in some fields of knowledge. “The education conditions should correspond to the real conditions of your future work as closely as possible,” stressed Alexander Lukashenko.
Belarus has embraced the University 3.0 model. The Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno uses it, too. “Today’s presentation of yours is a result of this program. It is certainly impressive in the areas, which were presented,” noted Alexander Lukashenko.
It is important for the state to early notice university students with pronounced leadership qualities, who aspire to political careers, noted Alexander Lukashenko. “If you bear in mind civil service, too, I can only welcome it,” he said. “It is necessary to develop managerial skills. The Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus does that. We are now revising its admittance criteria for students aiming for a second university degree. I’ve given instructions to leave some spots for secondary school graduates, but only the most talented and promising ones.”
“If people in executive positions starting with the head of a district administration and ending with the head of state are smart, educated, and ready to do their job, we will have a normal country. An overwhelming majority of our accomplishments depends on the quality of management. This is why I’d be glad to see a couple of dozens of future civil servants and executives coming from this place. We are ready to admit them to the Public Administration Academy because it will become a totally different education institution,” added the head of state.
Alexander Lukashenko stressed that decent young Belarusians, who are ready for civil service, will get all kinds of support in Belarus.
