MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Poland view each other as reliable partners, Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov said at the 5th meeting of the Belarusian-Polish working group on trade and investment on 25 October. The working group is part of the Belarus-Polish joint commission on economic cooperation, BelTA has learned.
“Despite certain differences in the economic models of the states and the participation in different integration associations, we can say with confidence today that Belarus and Poland view each other as reliable partners, extremely attractive markets, very convenient and reliable platforms for investment,” said Evgeny Shestakov.
The deputy minister noted with satisfaction that the working group on trade and investment has resumed its work after a two-year hiatus. In his words, it is an effective instrument for bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
“We understand that the revival we may currently observe in the Belarusian-Polish relations should be based on increasing openness and mutual readiness to seek solutions to existing issues in trade, economic and investment relations between our states,” the diplomat said.
The participants of the meeting discussed topical issues of bilateral trade and investment cooperation, prospects for the implementation of current joint projects and the launch of new ones, cooperation in the banking sector, in certification and standardization.
