ISLAMABAD, 5 October (BelTA) – Trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan will surely reach the level of political relations. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement as he met with Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain on 5 October, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that his current visit to Pakistan was a special one, the sides had done a lot to bolster the bilateral relations. “I feel that things are seriously on the move and four years later we will reach the desired results, we will build the foundation of our relations in the form of trade and economic decisions,” said the Belarus President.
The Belarusian head of state said he was confident that Belarus-Pakistan trade and economic interaction will surely reach the level of political relations between the two countries and their leaders.
Alexander Lukashenko went on saying that during the meetings held on 5 October the sides determined precisely how they would proceed from then on and what fields represented mutual interest. “It is now necessary to ‘ground’ these intentions. In other words, it is necessary to connect Belarusian companies with Pakistani ones or allow them to work freely and create the $1 billion we’ve talked about over the course of four years,” pointed out the Belarusian leader.
In turn, Mamnoon Hussain underlined that Alexander Lukashenko’s visit to Pakistan would bolster trade and economic relations between the countries as well as interaction in science, culture, education and other spheres.
