MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) – Belarus has developed a full-fledged and open media space, Belarus’ Information Minister Lilia Ananich said during the opening ceremony of the 21st international expo Mass Media in Belarus on 3 May, BelTA has learned.
“We have a mature national information space,” Lilia Ananich noted. She said that the Belarusian media space is open, and the fact that the event gathered entrees from across the world proves it. The minister underlined that the Belarusian state takes care of media development. This activity is bringing certain results. The country has more than 1,600 national print media and over 270 TV and radio programs. “Belarus is an open information space that attracts many media flows,” Lilia Ananich remarked.
She underlined that mass media development will be in the spotlight of the 21st Mass Media in Belarus expo. Experts will touch upon media professionalism and responsibility. “Belarus’ media should always remain professional, responsible, should help build up the country and maintain friendly relations between states,” the minister pointed out.
Lilia Ananich expressed confidence that the expo will result in new creative contacts and meetings.
