MINSK, 16 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Kazakhstan are looking for new opportunities to take the mutual relations to a new level. The statement was made by Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Yergali Bulegenov on 16 April, BelTA has learned.
The head of the lower chamber of the Belarus parliament said: “Without a shadow of a doubt our relations are advancing very actively. Nevertheless, both Belarus and Kazakhstan are intent on finding new opportunities to expand and deepen the mutual relations, which are based on friendship, mutual understanding, and trust.”
Vladimir Andreichenko also said he was grateful for the invitation sent by the Kazakhstan parliament and noted he accepted it. “I think the visit can be arranged in mid-June,” said the MP. An agreement on cooperation between the parliaments of Belarus and Kazakhstan is supposed to be signed among other things.
A working group on cooperation with the Kazakh parliament operates in the fifth-convocation National Assembly of Belarus. Belarusian and Kazakh MPs also cooperate within the framework of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
