MINSK, 28 May (BelTA) – Belarus invites China to declare 2019 as Year of Education, Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said at the meeting with Vice President of the People's Republic of China Wang Qishan on 28 May, BelTA has learned.
“Last year we, together with my Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang, declared 2018 as Year of Belarus Tourism in China. I suggest we make themed years of cooperation a good tradition and declare 2019 as Year of Education in Belarus and China,” Andrei Kobyakov said. He expressed confidence that it will help strengthen friendly relations between the two nations.
The prime minister thanked China for gratuitous technical aid to set up a number of facilities in Belarus. “Your assistance, including funds, expertise, and technologies is invaluable,” he said.
According to Andrei Kobyakov, over the past five years Belarus and China have developed their relations into a trust-based comprehensive strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation. The Great Stone industrial park, which was on the drawing board in 2013, has already turned into a true gem of the Silk Road Economic Belt project.
