MINSK, 28 May (BelTA) - Belarus invites Bulgaria to cooperate as part of the EU research projects, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich said as he met with a delegation of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences headed by its President Julian Revalski, BelTA has learned.
Mikhail Myasnikovich said that the Parliament is aware of the projects that the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences is planning to implement with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and intends to support them in every possible way, to create the appropriate conditions. Belarus, he said, would like to take a more active part in the research programs and projects of the European Union, including together with Bulgarian colleagues as co-performers.
Julian Revalski expressed the hope that the current visit to Belarus will serve as an impetus to new joint projects and the current ones. He noted that the strength of the Belarusian science is in its close cooperation with the manufacturers. “This is what we can learn from. Each research product finds its practical use in industry,” he said.
The two sides discussed the state support of science, intellectual property commercialization, application of R&D. Prospects for joint projects, exchange of scientists were also discussed.
