MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – Belarus supports the harmonization of digital markets of the European Union and the Eastern Partnership countries and is intent on implementing joint integration projects, BelTA learned from Belarusian Communications and Informatization Minister Sergei Popkov during another round of the Eastern Partnership informal ministerial dialogue in Minsk on 21 June.
The communications and informatization minister drew attention to the pilot projects the Belarusian side had suggested in the sphere of digital trade, electronic logistics, and digital transport corridors.
“The positions the Eastern Partnership countries agreed at this ministerial meeting on topical issues of further harmonization of digital markets will ultimately contribute to the development of mutual trade, stimulate employment, and attract foreign investment in promising joint projects,” said Sergei Popkov.
On 21 June participants of the regular round of the Eastern Partnership informal ministerial dialogue discussed the harmonization of digital markets of the European Union and partner countries, matters of cybersecurity, the development of broadband Internet access, cellular communications, and the harmonization of roaming rates.
