MINSK, 3 June (BelTA) – Belarus is interested in Indian pharmaceutical technologies related to the production of both medicines and substances, Healthcare Minister of Belarus Vasily Zharko told journalists on 3 June, BelTA has learned.
Vasily Zharko noted that Belarus is actively cooperating with Indian pharmaceutical companies.
In his words, 370 Indian medicines have been registered in Belarus today. As many as 101 of them are already produced in Belarus jointly with Indian companies or using Indian technologies. “19% of the medical substances that we use are of Cuban origin. We would like to adopt Indian pharmaceutical technologies to produce both medicines and substances,” Vasily Zharko said.
He also explained that this year Belarus is implementing three investment projects jointly with India. All in all, Belarus has established cooperation ties with ten Indian companies.
Vasily Zharko stressed that Belarus and India successfully develop bilateral cooperation in education. As many as 128 Indian students currently study at Belarusian universities. The number is expected to increase in 2015.
Besides, Belarus has started supplying medical equipment to India. “We have plans not only to supply equipment to this country, but also to provide the clients with assembling and maintenance services, and later to set up a production unit there,” Vasily Zharko noted.
