MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) – Belarus is the most attractive country for Russian tourists in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov told a press conference timed to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia on 2 April, BelTA has learned.
“From all the CIS countries, Belarus is the most attractive for the Russian tourism in all its aspects,” Alexander Surikov said.
According to the ambassador, Belarusian health resorts are popular among Russian citizens throughout the season, especially in summer. Belarusian farm tourism estates welcome plenty of Russian tourists, too. The country has also been developing new routes, in particular, river routes from Gomel. “We hope that this will help attract more tourists,” the Russian diplomat pointed out.
Belarus considers every new tourist attraction from the standpoint of its potential interest to Russian tourists. “We have a keen interest in the promotion of tourist attractions in Russia,” Alexander Surikov added.
