MOSCOW, 8 April (BelTA) – The status of the Commonwealth of Independent States cannot be downgraded under any circumstances. Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei made the statement during the session of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council in Moscow on 8 April, BelTA has learned.
“We cannot downgrade the CIS status under any circumstances. It is a solid belief of the leadership of the Republic of Belarus,” stated Vladimir Makei.
The Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs said he was confident that the Commonwealth of Independent States will remain an important, needed, and topical interstate association that allows addressing pressing problems. “Whatever anyone may say we can clearly see integration benefits,” Vladimir Makei underlined.
