MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) – The export of Belarusian construction services in H1 2018 went up by 15% from the same period a year ago to make up $234 million, Belarus’ Architecture and Construction Minister Anatoly Cherny said in an interview to the STV Channel on 5 August, BelTA informs.
Belarusian builders are working in European countries, he said. An enterprise has been established to build housing in Hungary. Housing construction is underway in the Baltic states. Russia remains a priority today. “A school for 1,000 students has been put into operation in Kaluga Oblast. A kindergarten has been built there. The construction of another school for 1,000 students in Kaluga has been launched this year. A similar project is considered in Syktyvkar in Komi. This is the construction of a school for 600 students and 1,200 students,” said Anatoly Cherny.
Speaking about the results of the first half of the year, the minister said that Br5.13 billion worth of construction and installation works were performed within the six months. “It is 8.4% up from the same period a year ago. Today we are third biggest contributor to GDP, behind the manufacturing industry and wholesale trade,” the minister said.
