MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – Belarus expects that constructive partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will continue. The statement was made by Belarusian Economy Minister Dmitry Krutoi as he met with EBRD Director for Russia, Belarus, and Tajikistan Sergei Verkashansky, the press service of the Economy Ministry told BelTA.
Dmitry Krutoi congratulated Sergei Verkashansky on the appointment and said he was confident that Belarus-EBRD constructive partnership will continue taking into account the accumulated experience. The economy minister also mentioned Belarus’ interest in increasing the EBRD’s investment portfolio in the country.
The meeting took place in anticipation of the official visit of representatives of the EBRD Board of Directors to Belarus. The visit is scheduled for 11-14 September. Members of the EBRD delegation are expected to meet with representatives of the Belarusian government, the central bank, and EBRD clients.
Sergei Verkashansky started working as the EBRD Director for Russia, Belarus, and Tajikistan on 1 July.
