MINSK, 3 July (BelTA) – Belarus intends to use all reserves in order to restore stability and tranquility in the region. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the relevant statement during the parade held on 3 July in honor of Independence Day and the 75th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazi invaders, BelTA has learned.
“We’ve lived under a peaceful sky for 75 years. In the name of the sacred memory of heroes of the Great Patriotic War we have to preserve peace and independence of our land. We have to pass the greatest value of our life on to the next generations. In order to accomplish this important mission, we have to worthily stand against challenges of new global conflicts – military ones, information ones, and economic ones. Conflicts that span all spheres of life, conflicts that destroy countries from within and push back their development decades into the past. Sometimes it happens without a single shot fired but more and more often it happens in line with blood-soaked scripts,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
He remarked that even small nations are entangled into this global standoff. “Everyone fights everyone these days. It is happening not simply around us but next to our borders. We intend to use all reserves to restore stability and tranquility in the region. By putting forth peace-loving initiatives, we strive to achieve the key goal – finding new ways and methods of establishing mutual relations between different geopolitical forces,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
Belarus reinforces the combat ability of the Armed Forces, other troops and military units purely for the sake of peace on its own land, the head of state pointed out. “Together with our key strategic partner – Russia – we put efforts into military development designed to enhance the defensive capability of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. We actively interact with countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. We expand cooperation with the People’s Republic of China in military matters and military technology,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stated. “In the years of the Great Patriotic War our forefathers fought together against the common aggressor both in the west and far in the east. Today we stand together guarding the tranquility and prosperity of our countries.”
