MOSTY, 2 November (BelTA) – Belarus is a land of bread and a territory of peace, mutual understanding and respect for each other, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a ceremony to honor agricultural workers at the Dazhynki 2024 festival in the town of Mosty on 2 November, BelTA has learned.
The president recalled that when speaking at the Dazhynki festival in Mosty in 1997, he said: "When there is bread, there is peace, there are songs!"
Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that grain is the country's gold reserve, a guarantee of confident, dynamic development and prosperity of the state. "But there is no ‘gold’ without those who ‘mine’ it with hard-working hands," he said. “We appreciate you very much for your endurance. You are the stronghold, you are the pillar of our state.”
“Despite progress and new technologies, we have never had easy bread. No matter what they tell us from 3D printed food and cricket powder. Bread is the main thing. We will not eat cockroaches!" the president said.
"I am proud that Belarus is a land of bread and a territory of peace, mutual understanding and respect for each other. This is our philosophy," the president said.
In this regard, the head of state recalled the famous Soviet film "White Dews" which was filmed in Grodno Oblast. "It says that people should speak not with tongues, but with their hearts. This is how things are on the land. The land unites people of different ages, professions and nationalities," Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
