MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) — Belarus is a friendly country for Serbia, our peoples have a very warm regard for each other, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Serbia to Belarus Ilina Vukajlović said during a meeting with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Belarusian Parliament Igor Sergeyenko in Minsk on 16 October, BelTA has learned.
The meeting is taking place on the occasion of the start of the ambassador’s diplomatic mission in the Republic of Belarus.
"I would like to take the opportunity to convey the greetings from President of the National Assembly Ana Brnabić. Belarus is a friendly country for us. Our peoples enjoy very good relations. We have a high level of our interaction," Ambassador Ilina Vukajlović said. “When I assumed office, people would approach me to say that they have a special regard for Belarus and remember very well the visit of your president in the most difficult times for Serbia. That is very important for us."
The ambassador pointed out her intention to promote the cooperation between the two countries. "A ministerial delegation visited Belarus at the end of August. Everyone is very pleased and impressed with Belarus. Belarus is beautiful. It is my first time in the country. I can confirm everything they said: it is clean, neat, the people are wonderful, very polite and nice, especially to Serbs. It is very comfortable for us to live and work here," she added.
