MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – Belarus has been vibrantly developing its cooperation with the Czech Republic and Slovakia in political, economic and cultural areas, Head of the Europe Department at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Vorobyov said at a function held in the House of Friendship on 24 October to mark 100 years of the independent Czech Republic, BelTA informs.
Evgeny Vorobyov emphasized the importance of the anniversary in the history of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Belarus develops close contacts with both the states, exchanges visits at different levels and implements joint projects.
Czech Ambassador to Belarus Tomas Pernicky stated that Czech and Slovak nations enjoy good-neighborly, family relations. His opinion was echoed by Charge d’Affaires of Slovakia to Belarus Peter Yanik, who noted that the strength of the two nations is in unity.
Attending the function were representatives of the embassies of Slovakia and the Czech Republic in Belarus, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Belarus-Czech Republic and Belarus-Slovakia friendship societies, students and teachers of Minsk universities.
