MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) – Belarus and China will focus their efforts on strengthening the political dialogue, inter-parliamentary cooperation and the implementation of joint projects, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich told the media after the meeting with the Chinese parliamentary delegation led by Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhang Dejiang, BelTA has learned.
Mikhail Myasnikovich noted that the parties discussed in detail the future of the bilateral relations, promising projects and cooperation areas. He expressed gratitude to China for mutual understanding on every current and promising issue. “We will focus our attention on strengthening the political dialogue, inter-parliamentary cooperation, the implementation of joint economic investment projects that are of mutual interest and beneficial for the economies of the two countries, useful for cooperation with third countries,” the chairman of the Council of the Republic said.
The parties agreed to create all necessary conditions for the implementation of the reached agreements.
The chairman of the Council of the Republic thanked Zhang Dejiang for the fruitful talks and stressed that “Belarus values and are proud of its relations with great China.” Mikhail Myasnikovich said that Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko visited China in September 2016. The leaders of the two countries signed the joint declaration on establishing relations of trustworthy all-round strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation between Belarus and China. Belarus views the visit of the Chinese parliamentary delegation as an important step in the implementation of the agreements.
The Belarusian and Chinese parliaments signed a joint statement on cooperation. The National People’s Congress donated ten Geely cars to the National Assembly.
