MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) – Belarus and China constantly come up with new ways of mutually beneficial cultural cooperation, Belarus Culture Minister Yuri Bondar stated at the third session of the commission on cultural cooperation of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee, BelTA has learned.
“Over the past few years much progress has been made in the development of Belarusian-Chinese relations in all areas. Despite geographical remoteness our countries always find new ways of mutually beneficial cooperation. This year about 800 Chinese students will be enrolled in the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts,” Yuri Bondar noted.
The culture minister said that the development of the political dialogue at the highest level and friendship between the leaders of the two countries, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and China President Xi Jinping, are essential for the strengthening of Belarusian-Chinese relations.
The commission has held two sessions in Minsk in October 2015 and in Beijing in May 2017. The signing of cooperation plan between the Culture Ministry of Belarus and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China for 2019-2022 was an important step towards closer cultural relations. The document was signed during the third session of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee in Beijing in November 2018.
“Cooperation between Belarus and China has been growing and includes many interesting and meaningful humanitarian projects,” the minister said.
The fourth session of the commission on cultural cooperation of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee will be held in China in 2021.
