MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) – Belarus and China are at the forefront of scientific progress in our joint projects, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich said at the meeting with the diplomats who served as China’s Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Belarus, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian-Chinese cooperation is multipronged and is not limited to trade and economic relations only, Mikhail Myasnikovich said. The two countries have been implementing investment projects, innovative programs. “We are at the forefront of sci-tech progress in our joint projects,” he stressed.

The two states have also been actively developing humanitarian cooperation thanks to which the Belarusian and Chinese people learn more about each other. “Belarusians show a big interest in our cooperation. We welcome the successes of Great China,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.

Mikhail Myasnikovich pointed out the sincere friendship between the two leaders which serves as the solid foundation of cooperation.

Welcoming the Chinese diplomats, Mikhail Myasnikovich said that they have done a lot to strengthen and develop bilateral cooperation. Everyone of them has made a contribution to the friendship and all-round strategic partnership by implementing specific projects and initiatives. Thanks to their support, the two countries have been developing successfully interparliamentary and intergovernmental relations, working together at the level of ministries and departments. With regard to the friendship groups set up at the two countries' parliaments, Mikhail Myasnikovich said that they have a great potential and can provide the legal and parliamentary support of the projects brought forward by the heads of state and in which the business community is interested.

For his part, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming stressed that the diplomats attending the meeting flew in specifically for this purpose from Beijing. They all are good friends of Belarus.
