MINSK, 11 December (BelTA) – Belarus praises the decision of the Sudanese authorities to deploy its diplomatic mission in Minsk, Belarus’ Prime Minister Sergei Rumas said at the ceremony held on 11 December to open the Sudanese embassy in Belarus, BelTA has learned.
“We are happy to see the Sudanese head of state at the opening of the Sudanese embassy. This is an extremely important event which demonstrates and confirms the high level of communication and understanding between the leaders of our countries,” the premier said.
Welcoming the appointment of the Sudanese ambassador to Belarus, he reaffirmed Belarus’ readiness to provide all necessary assistance to the embassy. The ambassador had already met with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to present his credentials and also held a number of meetings with the chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, the minister of foreign affairs and heads of other Belarusian ministries.
Sergei Rumas stressed that Sudan remains Belarus’ important partner in Africa. “We enjoy great relations at every level in different sectors,” the Belarusian head of government said.
