MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – Some 83,000 foreign nationals have taken advantage of the visa-free entry to Belarus, Belarusian Vice Prime Minister Anatoly Kalinin told the media following the wrap-up session of the Transport and Communications Ministry on 9 February, BelTA informs.
“Needless to say, this is not enough,” the official underlined and stressed the need to step up the promotional efforts. “There should be booklets, handouts, and other information materials available in our trains, aircraft, and airports for everyone to know where to come and what to see,” Anatoly Kalinin clarified.
The duration of visa-free stay for those flying in and out Belarus through Minsk National Airport may be extended to ten days in July or August 2018.
BelTA reported earlier that a five-day visa-free program was launched in Belarus for nationals of 80 countries in February 2017. As from 1 January 2018, the duration of visa-free stay for foreign visitors to certain districts of Brest Oblast and Grodno Oblast was increased to ten days.
