MINSK, 3 September (BelTA) - Gazprom Center is the first international architecture project not only in Minsk but in the whole Belarus. This is why the project is unique, Mikhail Gaukhfeld, deputy chairman of the Belarusian Union of Architects and the chief architect of the Gazprom Center project, told journalists during the presentation of the project, BelTA has learned.
Mikhail Gaukhfeld said that the center will be located near the National Library of Belarus at the intersection of Nezavisimosti Avenue and Filimonova Street. Another unique feature of the project is that its budget “has no strict limits.”
Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Gazprom Chairman of the Board Alexei Miller laid a time capsule at the construction site of the multi-purpose Gazprom Center on 21 August 2015. “All the necessary decisions regarding this project have already been made. The foundation ditch and the protection fence are ready,” Mikhail Gaukhfeld noted.
Gazprom Center will unite nine buildings of different heights occupying the total area of around 250 square meters.
The project was presented in the Minsk Town Hall as part of the 11th national architecture festival Minsk 2015.
