Anfimov: Belarus enjoys great authority in CIS

MINSK, 14 January (BelTA) - Belarus enjoys a great authority in the CIS, Leonid Anfimov, head of staff of the CIS observation mission for the presidential election in Belarus, said during a meeting with Belarusian Prosecutor General Andrei Shved in Minsk on 14 January, BelTA learned.

“This is our 13th mission in the Republic of Belarus. During the work of our missions in the Republic of Belarus, we have not identified practically a single shortcoming that could affect the course of the election campaign,” Leonid Anfimov said.

According to him, the campaign for the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus arouses genuine interest in the CIS countries. “Because Belarus enjoys a tremendous authority. This is not a mere rhetoric. I've studied, looked at how the country is perceived in the international arena, at least in the CIS countries, and how the head of state, the leader of the Belarusian nation is perceived among the peoples of the former Soviet Union,” Leonid Anfimov said.

The presidential election in Belarus is scheduled for 26 January 2025.
