MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) – Media in dishonest hands bring about challenges and threats, Belarus’ Information Minister Lilia Ananich said at the opening of the plenary meeting of the 11^th Belarusian international media forum Partnership for the Future on 13 May, BelTA has learned.

“The role of mass media is huge in all the processes today. New information technologies carry both benefits and threats when in dishonest hands,” Lilia Ananich said.

According to the minister, media coverage of conflicts and wars that disrespects such fundamental values as human life, world order and good-neighborly relations plays a negative role.
