MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) – In 2019-2020 the Belarusian economy should grow faster than the global economy. Belarus’ GDP growth should be at least 4% every year. The plans are stipulated by the Belarusian government action program for 2018-2020, BelTA learned from Belarusian Economy Minister Dmitry Krutoi.
The official said: “The key purpose of the program is to ensure economic growth rate in Belarus above the world’s average. Although the leading international agencies decreased the world economy growth forecast in the last two months, we don’t change our plans – steady growth of over 4% every year.”
The Belarusian government action program specifies areas, which will help secure such a fast economic growth rate. First of all, those are efforts to encourage entrepreneurship and make the public sector more effective.
Apart from that, it is important to minimize interregional differentiation – it is necessary to stimulate the development of regions in a complicated economic situation. “We have the relevant evaluation methods. We will determine these regions. They will get an additional package of measures,” specified Dmitry Krutoi.
