MINSK, 21 December (BelTA) – Belarus-Russia relations rely on sincerity and camaraderie, not grievances and reproaches, Russian Ambassador to Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev said on the air of the Belarus 1 TV channel on 18 December, BelTA has learned.
“Indeed, we have problems, disputes over kefir, meat or over gas prices in December. These things are important of course. But if we rely on these things only, then we will turn into robots, accountants counting tonnes of oil, cubic meters of gas. But how do we measure Great Victory, camaraderie, mutual support? In what tonnes, cubic meters?” Ambassador Dmitry Mezentsev asked. "The relations between Belarus and Russia in dozens of areas are built on sincerity and camaraderie, not grievances and reproaches."
According to him, the high level of cooperation between the two countries should be an example for all the EAEU states, the CIS countries and even for opponents. "If they [Belarus and Russia] are united, it means they they cannot be defeated,” the Russian ambassador said.
