Ambassador praises level of Belarus-Russia relations

MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) – Relations between Belarus and Russia are as high as they can be. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Boris Gryzlov made the statement during a solemn reception organized by the Russian embassy in Belarus on the occasion of Russia Day, BelTA has learned.

Boris Gryzlov said: “Belarus-Russia cooperation has been successfully developing for decades. This year will mark the 30th anniversary since the diplomatic relations were established. Today our relations are as high as they can be. At present Belarus is the closest ally of the Russian Federation.”

In her words, the countries build relations on unshakeable principles of mutual respect and support, traditions of friendship and good neighborhood. “Five meetings of our presidents have taken place since the beginning of this year alone. Another one will take place soon. A lot of work is being done by the parliaments, the governments, ministries and government agencies, and certainly peoples of our brotherly countries. We highly appreciate the support our Belarusian friends provide to us,” the diplomat stressed.
