Ambassador: Pakistan will continue to cooperate with Belarus on sustainable agenda

MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) - Pakistan will continue to cooperate with Belarus in the common pursuit of sustainable development, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Belarus Sajjad Haider Khan told BelTA on the sidelines of the second National Forum on Sustainable Development in Minsk on 19 June.

"I express my sincere congratulations to the Belarusian government for hosting such important forum. My heartfelt congratulations to Belarus for ranking 30th among 167 countries on the SDG index. This is a remarkable achievement and evidence of the effective strategies of Belarus," the head of the diplomatic mission stressed. 

"It is gratifying to note that Belarus is on track to achieve 80% of its 2030 goals, while the global average progress stands only at about 20%, according to the latest UN report on sustainable development," the ambassador added.
