MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko’s forthcoming visit to Beijing in April is important for China, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming told BelTA. The Chinese diplomat attended the Belarusian president’s Annual State of the Nation Address on 19 April.
The diplomat stressed that the meetings in Beijing will highlight the issues of deepening Belarus-China cooperation which is currently at a very high level. Cui Qiming is convinced that the potential of contacts is still hugely untapped and the two countries have many joint projects ahead.
The second Belt and Road forum for international cooperation in Beijing, which the Belarusian delegation led by Aleksandr Lukashenko is expected to attend, will determine the further ways of cooperation for the countries within the initiative.
According to Cui Qiming, Belarus takes an active part in the Belt and Road project, while the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone continues to attract big numbers of Chinese and European residents.
On 18 April, foreign diplomats, together with Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei, paid a visit to the park to get familiar with its economic potential.
