Ambassador: EU sees Belarus as independent player in global politics

MINSK, 26 December (BelTA) – The European Union sees Belarus as an independent player in international politics, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Belgium and Luxemburg, Belarus’ Permanent Representative to the European Union and NATO Alexander Mikhnevich told the ONT channel, BelTA has learned.

“The European Union has come to realize that our country pursues an independent and open international policy. Minsk is a major negotiating ground on Ukraine, we maintain good relations with Georgia and Moldova. This means that Belarus has a position of its own and this position is not at odds with the interests of our partners,” Alexander Mikhnevich said.

In his words, Minsk will host a major forum that will be attended by diplomats and representatives of the European business community in 2019.
