MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – There is a strong interest in mutually beneficial Belarusian-German cooperation on both sides, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Belarus Peter Dettmar said as he met with Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus’ National Assembly Boleslav Pirshtuk on 8 June, BelTA has learned.
“There is a strong interest in mutually beneficial cooperation on both sides,” the diplomat said. Peter Dettmar emphasized that German businessmen often pay visits to Belarus. Besides, he noted that it is possible to stimulate interest from German companies and entrepreneurs in Belarus and in economic cooperation with this country with the assistance of the German economy organizations, including the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
“Representatives of the German economy organizations come to look for cooperation opportunities that have not been fully exploited. Of course, they also come to gain an understanding of Belarus’ economic policy priorities,” the ambassador pointed out.
In this context, Peter Dettmar voiced support for Belarus’ five-day visa-free travel decision. The diplomat said that the measure solved some difficulties faced by foreigners.
