MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) – All prerequisites are in place for Belarus and Algeria to expand the bilaetral cooperation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt and concurrently to Algeria Sergei Rachkov said when speaking at the Belarus National Day event at the 50th international fair Algiers FIA 2017 on 11 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Belarusian national expo at Algiers FIA 2017 was inaugurated on 11 May. Addressing the audience, the Ambassador stressed the need for expanding the Belarusian-Algerian cooperation in trade, economic, industrial, agricultural, scientific and other fields, and noted that there are all the prerequisites for that.
Belarus’ expo at FIA 2017 aroused a keen interest among representatives of the Algerian government bodies, large private companies and enterprises, and the diplomatic corps. Following the negotiations that were held during the expo the memorandums of cooperation were signed between OAO MTZ and Belarus Motor Algeria, and between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and potential partners.
Belarus’ expo, which was first organized at Algiers FIA 2017, showcases the products of the enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry, including OAO MAZ, OAO Gomselmash and OAO Minsk Electrotechnical Plant and also the developments of the State Committee of Science and Technology, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and the Education Ministry.
Algiers FIA 2017 will stay open till 13 May. It has drawn about 1,000 companies from 40 countries. The operator of Belarus’ national expo is Belinterexpo exhibition company at the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
