100 Ideas for CIS project praised as ‘platform of friendship’

MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) – The international project 100 Ideas for the CIS has become a platform of friendship, Mirlan Parhanov, Deputy Director of Kyrgyzstan’s State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports, Chairman of the CIS Council on Youth Affairs, told journalists on 12 April, BelTA informs.

“I am glad to say that the 100 Ideas for the CIS project has been initiated by Belarus. It gives an opportunity to learn more about the background of our countries. A database of these projects will be compiled in the future for young people to join them and gain valuable experience. 100 Ideas for the CIS is a platform of friendship between the CIS member states,” Mirlan Parhanov noted.

The Belarusian capital is playing host to the meeting of the CIS Council on Youth Affairs. Taking part in the event is Belarusian Education Minister Igor Karpenko, Deputy Education Minister Raisa Sidorenko, First Secretary of the BRSM Youth Union Andrei Belyakov, and representatives of the CIS countries.

The meeting participants are expected to discuss effective forms and methods to put into practice Belarus’ national youth policy, implement the 2020 CIS Strategy for International Youth Cooperation, and draft a strategy of cooperation for 2021-2030. They are also set to discuss the results of the final of the 100 Ideas project and consider a strategy to develop cooperation in supporting young volunteers.

During the meeting, an international exhibition of the 100 Ideas for the CIS project winners will take place as well as the final of the national youth contest 100 Ideas for Belarus.
