ZENA to release album after Eurovision 2019

MINSK, 11 March (BelTA) –ZENA plans to release an album of her songs after the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, ZENA said as she took part in an online conference hosted by the Belteleradiocompany national broadcaster on 11 March, BelTA has learned.

“I have songs which I wrote myself. I have already performed them for my fans. There are also songs written in co-authorship with other singers. At the Fabrika Zvyozd (Star Factory) project I sometimes helped other participants write songs. I am currently working on new musical material. And I plan to release an album of my songs after Eurovision 2019. I have been working on it for a long time,”ZENA said.

ZENA chooses her musical material very carefully. “I believe that every song should be written with a certain artist in mind, should be associated with him or her. I always feel proud when I sing my own song, just like any other song writer,”the singer noted.

When asked about her image she said that she is her own stylist, make-up artist, and designer. “I run my social networks myself despite the busy schedule and try to communicate with my fans as much as possible. I am ready to listen and give advice to everyone,”ZENA said.

ZENA is a stage name of Zinaida Kupriyanovich. The girl is 16 years old. She has already won many music contests. She tried to make the cut for the Junior Eurovision two times. Last year she co-hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Minsk.

This year she won the national selection with her song 'Like It'. The 16 year old took the first place with 69 points out of 70.

The song “Like It” was written specifically for the Eurovision Song Contest. “The song has a trio of authors: me, Yulia Kireeva, and Viktor Drobysh. We took into account all the details, my wide vocal range, then edited the song. Everyone contributed their part and we got the perfect result,”the young artist added.

The 2019 Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Tel Aviv, Israel, in May. The semifinals will take place on 14 and 16 May, the final on 18 May. Belarus 1 and international satellite Belarus 24 TV channels of Belteleradiocompany will broadcast the show live.
