MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – Belarus’ Yulia Apanasovich (54kg weight category) has progressed into the semifinal of the EUBC Women's European Boxing Championships 2019 and secured a bronze medal of the competitions which are underway in Alcobendas, Spain on 22-31 August, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Boxing Federation.
The Belarusian took a solid victory over Poland’s Natalia Rok, 5-0, to make it to the semifinal. Earlier, Belarus’ Victoryya Kebikava made the same success in the 81kg event.
Competing for medals are about 200 athletes.
The men’s European boxing competitions were held in June 2019 as part of the 2nd European Games. Dzmitry Asanau (60kg) secured a gold medal, his teammate Uladzislau Smiahlikau (91kg) clinched silver.
At the previous Women’s European Boxing Championships Yana Burim and Viktoryya Kebikava claimed bronze medals.
