MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) – The nine-year-old Belarusian ballet dancer Vera Shpakovskaya became the winner at the Youth America Grand Prix 2018 (YAGP) finals in New York, BelTA learned from the Marina Vezhnovets Ballet School.
Vera Shpakouskaya performed in the 9-12 age category and took the third place. She became the youngest participant among 172 ballet dancers.
This year the Marina Vezhnovets Ballet School had several students in the final of the contest: Vera Shpakouskaya, Kseniya Kosava, Anastasiya Yarmosh and Nikita Sinkevich. All of them won the semi-finals in Paris and Barcelona, which guaranteed them a place in the Youth America Grand Prix 2018 final in New York. Kseniya Kosava was among the 12 best dancers and the Belarusian ensemble of Vera Shpakouskaya, Kseniya Kosova, Anastasiya Yarmosh and Nikita Sinkevich was among the 12 best ensembles.
Established in 1999, YAGP is one of the major and most prestigious contests among dance students.
