MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – The national film project Yanka Kupala directed by Vladimir Yankovsky got the Cinematographic Event of the Year award at the second CIS international film festival Moscow Premiere. The film screening took place in the Moscow Cinema House on 14 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusfilm Studio.
The historical drama Yanka Kupala tells the story of the national poet of Belarus. The film reveals the main milestones of the poet's life and his creative path, which coincided with the most tragic events of the 20th century. The film trailer is available in English, Russian, Belarusian and Chinese. The film producers are Alyona Kalyunova, Alexandra Borisova and Vladimir Yankovsky.
The duration of the film is 155 minutes. The filming process took more than one year. The premiere was held in the original language. Subtitles were added especially for the the Russian film festival.
Moscow Premiere is an annual festival held to maintain the common cinema space. It brings together cinematographers and viewers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine. The festival is organized with the support of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation.
