MINSK, 14 June (BelTA) – Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus goes 4th in the recently-published WTA rankings following the French Open tournament, BelTA has learned.
At the 2021 Roland Garros Aryna Sabalenka lost to Russia’ Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, the finalist-to-be, in the round of Last 32. The Russian defeated Belarus’ Victoria Azarenka in the round of Last 16. The Belarusian goes 16th with 3,696 points in the world rankings. Belarus’ Aliaksandra Sasnovich moved up from the 103rd to 101st spot with the total of 818 points. Olga Govortsova of Belarus is 133rd with 610 points. This week Aryna Sabalenka and Victoria Azarenka will play in the Grass Court Championships Berlin 2021. Victoria Azarenka will open against Germany’s world number 129 Andrea Petkovic in the round of Last 32, Aryna Sabalenka will start from the second round.
