MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) – Ten Belarusian artists displayed their works at Salon d'Automne (Autumn Salon) in Paris, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in France.
Salon d'Automne on the Champs-Elysees was held under the patronage of the French Ministry of Culture in Paris on 11-15 October. The forum of modern arts was first held in 1903 and is the oldest exhibition of fine arts in France.
On the initiative of the Belarusian Embassy in France and under the auspices of Belgazprombank, ten Belarusian artists displayed their works at this year’s Autumn Salon. These were Alexander Akutenok, Alexander Belsky, Alesya Belko, Yana Vytik, Georgy Kapustnikov, Semyon Motolyanets, Fyodor Shurmelev, Diana Gorbach, Anna Kokhanovskaya and Elena Makarevich.
“This year Belarusian artist Elena Makarevich has joined the Salon d'Automne association, the most prestigious public organization of contemporary artists in France. A performance from Belarusian artist Anna Kokhanovskaya took place during the Salon d'Automne on 13 October,” the embassy said.
On 15 October Belarus’ Ambassador to France Pavel Latushko met with Salon d'Automne President Sylvie Koechlin to talk over the cooperation between the Belarusian and French schools of fine arts and discuss further areas of cooperation.
On 6 October-6 November 2017 Minsk is playing host an exhibition of modern arts entitled as the Autumn Salon with Belgazprombank. Eight French artists, members of the Autumn Salon Association, are taking part in the expo under the auspices of the Belarusian Embassy in France.
