MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) – An exhibition of works by modern Belarusian artists from the reserves of the National Modern Arts Center opened at premises of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 20 October, the ministry’s press service told BelTA.
Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas opened the exhibition. He mentioned the strong role cultural diplomacy plays in efforts to bolster international relations. The official also stressed it is necessary to further advance the intercultural dialogue.
The exhibition features authors from all the branches of modern Belarusian art in the area of pictorial art and sculpture. The artists include Leonid Shchemelev, Vladimir Tovstik, Vladimir Slobodchikov, Grigory Sitnitsa, Vladimir Zinkevich, Vladimir Panteleyev, Grigory Ivanov, Valery Shkarubo, and other ones.
Foreign diplomats, who are accredited in Belarus, representatives of the National Modern Arts Center, the Belarusian Union of Painters, representatives of the creative intellectuals community and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the opening ceremony.
