MINSK, 8 September (BelTA) - Winners were named in the roller ski relay among university teams and amateur teams held to mark the Minsk City Day on 8 September, BelTA has learned.
Students of the Belarusian State University of Physical Education placed first. The Maksim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University came in second and the Academy of Public Administration under the auspices of Belarus President third. The team of the latter featured Paralympics champion Svetlana Sakhonenko.
Competing in the amateur team event were spokesperson for the Belarusian President Natalya Eismont and the president’s youngest son Nikolai Lukashenko, Belarus NOC Vice President Andrei Astashevich, head coach of the Yunost ice hockey club Mikhail Zakharov.
All in all, eleven teams teams competed in the event.
The program of the big sports festival will continue with the roller ski relay among law enforcement agencies and a roller marathon featuring the best athletes of Belarus and other countries.
