MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) - Iran's stand at the 24th Minsk International Book Fair provides an opportunity to Belarusians to learn more about Iranian literature and art, the head of the cultural office at the Iranian Embassy to Belarus Seyed Shafai.
Iran is traditionally widely represented at the Minsk book fair. In addition to the colorful books the Iranian stand features national handicrafts, carpets, calligraphy.
The stand has been prepared jointly by the Iranian Embassy to Belarus, Iranian cultural office, the House of Friendship of Iranians in Belarus.
The book fair will include nearly 300 events. Among them will be the events to celebrate 500 years of the Belarusian book printing, the 135th birthdays of Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas as well as anniversaries of Pimen Panchenko, Yanka Bryl and other outstanding writers. The events will also include the awards ceremony of the national contest Art of the Book, the international literary symposium entitled Writer and Time.
